Dr. Michael S. Joyce ’76, who earned a Ph.D. from Walden, died in February at age 63. He served as the executive director of the John M. Olin Foundation, and he helped start The Federalist Society, The New Criterion magazine, and The Lynde and Harry Bradley Foundation. He’s remembered by the National Review as “one of the conservative movement’s great philanthropic spenders.”
