On the Cover

magazine cover imageIf each of Walden’s 20,000 alumni turned off the tap while brushing their teeth, the water conserved would equal 100,000 gallons per day. Like planting a seed, change begins with one action, one person, one moment. Wolff Vineyards Winery, on the cover, is a sustainable vineyard in San Luis Obispo, Calif. There, alumnus Dr. Jean- Pierre Wolff, shown holding a “fruit set” of new grapes, uses practices such as dry farming and natural habitat replenishment to protect the environment. On the other coast, Dr. Carol Ann Breyer offers her sustainable home as a teaching tool for her Florida community. And throughout Walden’s international network, graduates are sowing their own seeds for change.
