Inspiration
Georgia “Gene” Berryhill pictured in “Weit Nah” (“Far and Near”), part of her “Transforming Landscapes” series.
Walden Ph.D. in Education graduate Georgia “Gene” Berryhill has collected 200 photographs of an environmentally devastated region near Cottbus, Germany, into a documentary presentation called “Transforming Landscapes.” A result of two Fulbright fellowships Berryhill received when she was teaching at Biola University in La Mirada, Calif., the presentation promotes awareness of industry’s environmental impact. “Awareness is an important factor in promoting successful environmental change,” Berryhill says. “I’ve found that beauty helps to attract people to important causes, so I try to share the beautiful moments along with the issues of truth I’ve encountered.”
